English Summer Camps

"Expanding the possibilities of learning English in Chile"

The Ministry of Education, through the Inglés Abre Puertas program, has been developing the curricular plan in which the English Summer Camps are found, which initially allowed 60 students from the Province of Biobío to live for seven days the experience of learning and perfect the English language dynamically and in the context of a summer camp.

The initiative began in 2008 promoted by President Michelle Bachelet for students between 13 and 17 years old.

For the Ministry of Education, there is a full commitment to bringing the learning of English closer to our students, since we understand the importance of opening and breaking barriers with a second language in the globalized world in which we currently live, in order to strengthen the Public Education in English.

The motto chosen by the students through an online survey was "Learn the World Through English", to value and learn about the different cultures and ways of life around the world, which allows us to expand the possibilities and tomorrow opt for travel and get to know other countries without the language impediment.

The experience that not only allows public and subsidized private education students to perfect their English, but also gives them the opportunity to improve their interpersonal relationships among young people, gives them tools for coexistence, allows them to create ties and meet students from other countries. communes of the province.

The year 2023 was open between October 10 and November 10

The in-person English language immersion sessions are five days long, aimed at students from 5th grade to 4th grade middle school belonging to municipal, subsidized private and SLEP establishments.
